#012 — Who are the “Reps” and what are they for ?
Seven community representatives were elected on October 28 by the DeSo community for a period of 3 months.
Who are they and what are they for ? We interviewed them for you.
Their names in alphabetical order are:
@Brootle, @Eminabec, @Kanshi, @Kerstineymers, @Matreshka, @Randhir et @Sandirose.
Who are the “Reps” and what are they for ? Explanations.
This election was organized not by @nader and the DeSo admins but by two members of the community: @darian_parrish and @JasonDevlin.
Candidates announced their their intent to run between October 18 and 21. After which the final list of candidates was announced by the organizing account: @DeSoCommunityReps. There was 14 candidates.
319 members took part in the vote, i.e. around 8% of the daily active members.
What are the roles and responsibilities of elected representants ?
According to the terms of the project, « Community representatives are expected to collect and report issues directly to the core team and be community advocates.
The representatives will serve to represent the community for upcoming initiatives of the core team (DeSo admins). Representatives will inform the core team of the possible effects of their decisions before making them. »
In fact, Nader has not yet made a statement regarding this election and therefore these roles will only be confirmed if the representatives are officially recognized.
However, the team of representatives did not wait for official recognition to get to work.
They created a Discord server so that they could chat with each other and with members of the community.
How to follow the work of the “Reps” and give our opinion ?

Portraits of the 7 representatives
We have asked the 7 reprentatives to introduce themselves.
@Brootle
Brootle is a colorful character in the community. He is known for his thunderous positions, his iconoclastic personality and his deadpan humor.
On his profile, Brootle he defines himself as “King of the Kings”.
He said recently: « Everyone absolutely has to agree that @brootle is the King of DeSo. I have already posted my program and everyone will have to do everything they can to make this happen and die for it if necessary. Thank you. And from now on Nader will do what I tell him to do. “
He is a developer who has done several DeSo projects like @SearchClout in partnership with @tijn, the NFT application deso-nfts.netlify.app. He is the creator of several NFT accounts: @FuckedUpTiles, @FlyMan NFT and @FuckedUpPunks.
In a landscape dominated by the Krassensteinian motto “See the positive in every thing”, Brootle doesn’t hesitate to raise his voice when he sees something wrong.

@Kanshi
Kanshi, whose real name is Andrzej Tuchoska, is a developer, doctor of engineering, based in Poland.
He runs a company called Y Experiment whose goal is to « materializing business opportunities arising from software based innovation. »
« My scientific ambitions are focused on antipatterns and their role in increasing the productivity of people », he says.
In particular, he is involved in software innovation in the field of virtual reality.
He is the creator of @astronation, @love4src, @DeSoLabs, @DeSoNinja. And love4src.com, a node « by and for software makers. »

@Kerstineymers
Kerstin is a marketing consultant who has led multi-million dollar marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. She graduated in Leadership Psychology, Agile Coaching, Marketing and was invited to join Forbes Women Network, a community for female leaders and agents of change. »

@Matreshka
« I love this platform and the community here. It is the very first place where I feel like I belong. And I really want it to succeed. So it is important to me to help in any way I can. I cannot build software (or at least yet) but I know how to build community and I am pretty good at that. People generally feel comfortable approaching me and talking to me. As an empath, it is easy for me to see other people’s POV and see different sides of the same situation from other people’s perspectives. I can easily communicate with different types of creators such as artists, entrepreneurs, investors, devs and everyone in between, a lot of whom I also met IRL.
