#013 — Brazilian Creators: in which to invest ?

The Brazilian community on DeSo is very dynamic and growing.
We interviewed several talented Brazilian creators, including an internationally renowned artist: Monica Rizzolli.
Meet Brazilian artists and see which one is a potentially a good investment.

MONICA RIZZOLLI

Monica Rizzolli is a 40 year old internationally renowned Brazilian artist.

After two years of training in an arts school in Germany, she pursued university studies for four years at the Institute of the Arts in São Paulo, then a one-year specialization at the School of Fine Arts in Belo Horizonte.

Since 2015, she has participated in twenty-two exhibitions and performances in Brazil, Spain, Germany, China and the United States.

On September 13, Monica made a record sale of an NFT collection on the Art Blocks platform for a value of 1,623 Ether, the equivalent of $ 5.55 million. Her collection entitled Fragments of an Infinite Field consists of 1,024 unique artworks on the theme of flowers. The originality of the collection is that the representations of flowers change according to the season.

Monica draws and paint free hand but she is also a programmer and she transforms her paintings into animated digital works.

Monica sold an NFT collection in September for $ 5.55 million.

BECOPRO

Rafael Draga, alias Becopro, has been a graffiti artist in Rio de Janeiro since 2012 and the characters he painted on the streets are now transformed into NFT.

Becopro is the creator of the NFT Deso Ghost.

He graduated in Fashion Design in 2009 and has always been passionate about art in all its forms. « Today the NFT is changing my life, » he says.

He started with the ghost character through the @becopro account and after all the works were sold he did his second project called @desoghost.

« At first I struggled a bit », dit-il, « because I don’t speak English, but the people in the community have welcomed me very encouragingly and that pushes me to do more and more. drawings and to evolve in my artistic techniques.

Today I am so happy to have the opportunity to sell my art to so many amazing people who have only helped me from the start in this community. »

One of Becopro’s favorite characters is a little ghost.

QABRIEU

Gabriel Nicolau de Lima, alias Qabrieu, is a 29 year old artist who lives in the southern area of São Paulo.

Since his childhood, he says he was immersed in music. He started playing drums at the age of 5.

« I got into art because I don’t like being alone », he says.

The switch to digital has been a great development for him. Currently, I am looking to further improve my artistic techniques by taking risks in the use of different materials. « I seek to put authenticity and sincerity in all my creation », he says.

Qabrieu has an original and emotional personal style.

THE PHILOSOPHER

In the NFT world he is known as The Philosopher, but as a professor of philosophy at Amapá Federal University his name is Rodrigo Cid. Rodrigo has a doctorate in philosophy and is the author of several books. He is also artist and virtual curator on the metaverse Cryptovoxels, Substrata.

He made several other exhibitions in Ouro Preto and in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.

The AVA gallery generally represents him for his physical works, while the Binaria Gallery, plays this role for his virtual works.

After several of his artworks were stolen from an exhibition, he stopped exhibiting for almost a year. It was at this point that he turned his attention to virtual works. « I saw in NFTs a way to showcase the digitization of my work, without having to endanger my work », he says.

He developed a passion for art in 2016/2017, when he was living in Minas Gerais. He took several training courses and developed a technique he calls Nanjing Breath based on blown ink. His first exhibition in Ouro Preto was called Breath and Form.

Subsequently, he discovered Cryptovoxels and the production of wearables (accessories for avatars). He started to organize virtual exhibitions. With a colleague, he created the Brazucas NFT gallery and organized an exhibition of more than 100 Brazilian artists. The famous artist Monica Rizzolli took part.

He intends to use his metaverse experience on DeSo.

UM POUCO MAIS DE ISO

His real name is Danilo Cunha, he signs his works Um Pouco Mais De Iso (A little more ISO).

Danilo is a photographer and visual artist originally from Mogi Mirim in the state of São Paulo.

He mixes these two arts and transforms them into NFT.
The main theme of his photos is acceptance.

He uses his photos as a basis for making stenciled artworks.

KAY SARA

Born in 1996 in the town of Iauaretê, located on the border with Colombia, in the state of Amazonas, Kay Sara is the daughter of indigenous people of the Tariano and Tukano ethnic groups. At the age of 7, she moved with her family to Manaus, where he lived until the age of 22. In Manaus, she made her first experiences in cinema and theater.

She has acted in several films and series such as, “Un Giorno Devi Andare” — One day you must leave — (2013), “Antes o Tempo Não Acabava” — Before time did not end — (2016), A Terra Negra Dos Kawa — The Black Land of the Kawas — (2018). She participated in the group Dyróa Bayá, at the cultural space SESC Pompeia of São Paulo with the solo performance Pê’tía’Nawe — Extermínio (2018), the Aruanas series by TV Globo (2018), and the play “Brian ou Brenda” ( 2019–2020). In 2019 received an invitation to be Antigone in the play by Swiss director Millo Rau (2020–2021).

DIORAMA

Diorama, whose real name is Maíra Mesquita, is originally from São Paulo, the city where she also lives. She graduated in cinema and has been working as an audiovisual artistic director since 2005. She has also worked in theater and dance, and I have had some experiences with performance and visual arts.

In early 2018, she participated in an artistic residency in the state of Rio de Janeiro where she developed a series of videos in which insects interacted with miniatures.

« Early 2021, when I was invited by a friend to join Bitclout », she says, « I thought maybe it would be a good idea to take over the project with the miniatures. And I started to to experiment briefly with my materials. As an artistic director, and in fact long before, I keep a multitude of different materials and objects, because, for my work, almost anything can be raw material. »

Maíra intends to continue this research based on the choreography of objects, the graphic and symbolic power they have, generating movement with the Stop Motion animation technique.
